ANA 622 Jet
A high-quality semi-gloss WW2 US glossy black acrylic or enamel paint for aircraft scale models and creative work.
ANA 622 Jet Color Guide:
- ANA 622 Jet was added to ANA Bulletin No. 157 along with the revision of this specification.
- ANA 622 Jet was similar in hue to ANA 604 Black introduced earlier. The main difference was the sheen. ANA 604 was matt, while ANA 622 had a glossy sheen. ANA 604 was widely used for aircraft markings, painting propeller blades, instrument panels, and dashboards. ANA 604 Black could also be used to paint anti-glare panels on U.S. aircraft in place of Dark Olive Drab No. 41 or its successor ANA 613 Olive Drab.
- ANA 622 Jet was a gloss black color used primarily for the overall camouflage of USAAF night aircraft during World War II. The radio-transparent radomes of such aircraft were usually painted ANA 601 Insignia White.
- The ANA 622 Jet remained in service after World War II and was used mainly to paint night fighters until the 1950s when it was replaced by its successor FS 17038 Black.
