RAL 7035 Light Gray Color Guide:

  • RAL 7035 Light Gray is the closest modern analog of WeiB 30, widely used to paint German submarines during World War II.
  • RAL 7035 Liсhtgrau was also used for camouflaging hulls and superstructures of Kriegsmarine Schnellboats (S-Boot) during WW2.
  • According to the Marineflieger Norm 76 camouflage scheme, RAL 7035 was used to paint the lower surfaces of post-WWII German naval aircraft such as the Breguet Atlantic, Panavia Tornado, Westland Lynx, and others. The upper surfaces, according to this scheme, were to be painted in RAL 7012 Basaltgrau.
  • RAL 7035 Lichtgrau was also used for the Norm 81B camouflage of German Army Cold War aircraft. RAL 7035 patches were applied to the lower surfaces along with RAL 7030 Steingrau. RAL 7037 Staubgrau, RAL 7039 Quarzgrau, RAL 7012 Basaltgrau, and RAL 7009 Grüngrau camouflage blotches were applied to the upper surfaces.
  • RAL 7035 Light Gray was also widely used in various experimental camouflage schemes for Luftwaffe Bundeswehr aircraft in the 1980s.
