FS 30279 Desert Sand Color Guide:

• FS 30279 Desert Sand was widely used for adversary camouflage of US aircraft imitating Soviet fighter planes during the Cold War.
  
• FS 30279 Desert Sand was also used in the two-color desert camouflage of USMC aircraft during the Gulf War. In addition to FS 30279, this scheme also included the use of FS 33711 USMC Sand. Sometimes the colors Dark Tan FS 30219 or Earth Red FS 30117 may have been used instead of FS 30279 Desert Sand.
