Steel Paint Color Guide:

• Steel is an alloy of iron and carbon, which has higher strength and resistance to breakage than other types of iron.
• Steel has been known since ancient times and was produced in bloomers and crucibles. The earliest known steel production is shown on pieces of ironwork excavated at an archaeological site in Anatolia (Kaman-Kalehöyük), which are almost 4,000 years old and date back to 1800 B.C. Steel weapons such as the Falkata on the Iberian Peninsula are identified, and Norilian steel was used by the Roman military.
• Steel has been produced in blast furnaces for thousands of years, but its widespread industrial use began only after more efficient production methods were developed in the 17th century, with the introduction of the blast furnace and the production of crucible steel.
• Before the introduction of the Bessemer process and other modern manufacturing techniques, steel was expensive and was only used where no cheaper alternative existed, particularly for the cutting edge of knives, razors, swords, and other items where a hard, sharp edge was needed.
• The use of steel is now everywhere. Despite the increasing use of aluminum, steel is still the main material for car bodies.
• Steel is also widely used in the shipbuilding and aerospace industries, household appliances, heavy equipment such as bulldozers, furniture, tools, and armor in the form of personal vests or vehicle armor (in this role, steel is better known as rolled homogeneous armor).
• Steel is produced using ultrafine metallic pigment, which would be the best choice for scale modeling.
• Steel has a natural metal shіne when applied. To avoid scratches and oxidation, it is recommended to coat the painted surfaces with a layer of glossy or matte varnish.
