Nero 12 Color Guide:
- Nero 12 is a deep black color produced by Duco, Inves, Sipa, Masciadri, and Max Meyer. It was used mainly for painting airplanes.
- Nero 12 along with Bianco Neve 6 was widely used for markings, aircraft formation codes, stencils, etc. on Italian aircraft in the 1930s and 1940s.
- From the early 1940s, Nero 12 was used to paint propeller blades on Italian aircraft. The propeller tips were painted yellow Giallo Cromo 7 for safety reasons.
- Nero 12 was also used to paint wooden hulls and floats below the waterline in Italian seaplanes.
- Nero 12 was used to completely paint Italian night fighters or could be applied to the undersides of night bombers.
