BS 381C 632 Dark Admiralty Grey

A high-quality semi-gloss modern RAF aircraft interior gray acrylic or enamel paint for scale models and historical miniatures.

BS 632 Dk. Admiralty Grey Color Guide:

  • With Allied Air Forces aircraft cockpit colors transitioning to gray (mostly US, which switched from ANA 611 Interior Green to FS 36231 Dark Gull Gray), the British authorities also decided to update the RAF and FAA aircraft cockpit colors. BS 632 Dark Admiralty Grey was adopted as the primary interior color of RAF and FAA aircraft in the 1960s to replace the Night previously used for this purpose.
  • The cockpits of foreign or internationally built RAF and FAA aircraft (e.g. Typhoon, Tornado, F4 Phantom, Harrier II) were usually painted FS 36231 Dark Gull Gray instead of BS 632 Dark Admiralty Grey.
  • BS 632 Dark Admiralty Grey was used for cockpits only, wheel wells and landing gear, flaps and other interiors, airframe, etc. were painted in other colors depending on the specific aircraft but usually, it was BS 697 Light Admiralty Grey or bare metal.
