A high-quality semi-gloss Wehrmacht Panzer gray acrylic or enamel paint for scale models and historical miniatures.
RAL 7021 Dark Gray Color Guide:
- RAL 7021 Dark Gray (Dunkelgrau Nr. 46) was introduced in 1937 to supersede Reichswehr Feldgrau Nr. 3 paint for German AFV camouflage.
- RAL 7021 Dunkelgrau Nr. 46 was used for two-color camouflage of German armor in the 1937-1940s, which in addition to Dunkelgrau also suggested blotches RAL 7017 Nr. 45 Dunkelbraun. In July 1940 this scheme was canceled by Heeresmitteilung Nr. 864, and RAL 7021 Dunkelgrau 840 B2 Nr. 46 became the uniform color of German vehicles. This one-color dark gray camouflage scheme was in effect until 1943 when it was replaced by RAL 7028 Dunkelgelb as the new unified camouflage color.
- According to Besondere Luftwaffenbestimmung (BLB) 38, No. 416 of 20.09.1938 Luftwaffe ground vehicles were also painted RAL 7021 Nr. 46. There is no documental proof that RAL 7016 Blaugrau Nr. 4 should be used instead. However, in some cases, it was seen that the vehicle was painted in a lighter shade of gray compared to RAL 7021.
- RAL 7021 Schwarzgrau was used in the 1980s and 1990s for the tri-color wrap-around camouflage of Luftwaffe aircraft according to the Norm-83 scheme along with RAL 6003 Olivgrün, and FS 34079 Forest Green.
