DKH L40/52 Grau
Premium semi-gloss acrylic or enamel light gray paint, designed for scale modelers and historical miniatures. Perfect for recreating authentic WWII Luftwaffe finishes.
About DKH L40/52 Grau:
- Originally introduced in 1936, also known as Avionorm Nitrodecklack 7375 Graumatt.
- Used throughout the late 1930s and 1940s by the Luftwaffe for overall light gray finishes, especially on civil aircraft, prototypes, and experimental planes.
- Lufthansa also applied this paint on its passenger aircraft during the same period.
- Supplied aircraft delivered to Axis-aligned countries (Hungary, Romania, Bulgaria, Finland, Slovakia, Croatia) — and to Spain during the Spanish Civil War — often retained this original German gray scheme.
- Unlike the RLM and RAL standards, which assign numbers to specific color shades, the designation DKH L40/52 refers to a paint type produced by Dr. Kurt Herberts, a German manufacturer. “Grau” is the German word for gray.
