Paint Set 7011: Ukrainian Flankers in Pixel Camouflage
Couldn't load pickup availability
In 2012, Ukrainian Su-27 fighter jets underwent a major upgrade at the MiGremont aircraft repair plant in Zaporizhzhia. The modernization included updated avionics, radar systems, and power units. One standout result was a new digital (pixel-style) camouflage in shades of gray, blue, and light blue — a look that quickly became iconic for Ukrainian Su-27s.
Modernization and Digital Camouflage for Ukrainian Su-27s
The upgrade aimed to extend the service life of the fleet and bring the aircraft up to modern air combat standards. The pixel camouflage first appeared on a few jets modified to Su-27S1M/P1M and UB1M/UP1M specs. Later, it became standard across the entire Su-27 lineup in the Ukrainian Air Force.
Combat Use During the Russo-Ukrainian War
Since Russia’s full-scale invasion in 2022, upgraded Su-27s have been actively involved in missions like patrol, interception, and precision strikes against fortified positions, air defense systems, and ammo depots. One well-known example is the May 2022 strike on Snake Island, where two Su-27s hit Russian positions. Some of the jets have also been adapted to carry Western precision weapons like AGM-88 HARM missiles and JDAM-ER smart bombs.
Using This Paint Set
This paint set lets you accurately recreate the pixel camouflage scheme seen on Su-27s upgraded after 2012. The colors are based on real-life samples, making it easier for modelers to achieve an authentic look straight from operational aircraft flown in combat missions against Russian aggression.
