RLM 41 Gray Color Guide:

• RLM 41 Grau was developed for use in the painting of Luftwaffe aircraft in 1936 following Luftwaffe directive L.Dv. 521.
• RLM 41 Gray was exclusively an interior paint that was never used as camouflage. It was mainly used to paint the dashboards of Luftwaffe aircraft between 1936 and 1938. In 1938, RLM 41 Grau was replaced by RLM 66 Schwarzgrau for this purpose.
• As mentioned above, RLM 41 Gray was used for only 2 years, after which it was discontinued along with RLM 42. These two colors were both short-lived and were not included in the second revision of L.Dv. 521 in 1938.
